PATIENT PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

TMJ and Headache

The TMJ/Headache Program at Siskin Hospital improves the symptoms of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, such as jaw pain and popping, pain when chewing, frequent headaches, teeth grinding, and an inability to fully open the mouth.

A physical therapist evaluates the patient, develops a tailored home exercise program for them, and treats the dysfunction using hands-on mobilization and stretching of the TMJ, neck, and other related structures.

Ultrasound, moist heat application, and electrical stimulation may be used to address the patient's pain and discomfort.

For more information about Siskin Hospital’s TMJ/Headache Program, call 423.634.1389.
