Amputee Program

The Amputee Program at Siskin Hospital improves the independence and mobility of patients who have experienced amputation of one or more limbs. When a limb is removed, patients experience a change in their center of gravity, mobility, and ability to perform activities of daily living like dressing, toileting and bathing. Based on the amputation and the patient’s individual goals, a personalized treatment and exercise plan is created. A treatment plan may range in scope from care of the amputation wound to the prosthetic fitting to driving independently.
