Director of Infection Prevention & Control
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Infection Prevention & Control to lead our organization in promoting and ensuring high standards of health and safety within our facilities. Under the guidance of the VP of Quality and Compliance, this position is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting healthcare-associated infections. The IP collaborates with teams and individuals to create, modify and improve infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention strategies within the organization. They will monitor for organizational compliance with infection prevention and control related regulations, guidelines, and requirements. The Director of Infection Prevention & Control will provide oversight and direction to the Employee Health Program.
Duties will include:
Program Management of the Infection Prevention program, surveillance and investigations of infection prevention and controls
Design and Deliver Education
Comply with regulatory and mandatory reporting requirements at the local, state, and federal levels
Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI)
Participate in the development/review of occupational health policies and procedures related to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC).
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.
Minimum 1 year infection control and prevention experience.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Baccalaureate degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related field preferred.
Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC preferred) or attainment of the CIC certification within 2 years after employment.
Certification in Infection Control and Prevention for Long Term Care (CIC-LTC) preferred or attainment of the CIC-LTC credential within 2 years of employment.
Completion of the CMS/CDC Infection Control in Long Term Care course within 3 months of hire.
Maintains Healthcare Provider CPR Certification
Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred
Certified for DOT drug screening preferred or must obtain this certification within 3 months of hire.
