For support, CABIA offers a virtual statewide group that meets every week. The meetings consist of guest speakers; education; resources; a caregiver group; art and recreational therapy; and fun times for socializing with other survivors and family members. CABIA also offers in-person support groups and opportunities.

Friends and family members are encouraged to attend as well. Through once a month meetings, friendships are formed in which true support for one another actually takes place. Additionally, the format of the meeting seeks to be centered around a presentation made by a healthcare professional or an individual with Parkinson’s Disease familiar with what you are or will soon be experiencing. Plenty of time is provided for asking questions and seeking new insight at each month’s meeting as well. If you are seeking a chance to learn from others while experiencing support and fellowship on your journey with Parkinson’s Disease, please visit this group. With assistance from various professionals, community resources, and client success stories, we hope to provide a useful tool for enhancing community participation. We want to equip individuals with SCI and caregivers with information to promote healthy living.
The meeting is open to inpatients and to people with spinal cord injuries in the community.
